This large-scale exhibition of Pablo Picasso’s printed graphics is the first known case in Russia. Picasso experimented a lot with his art style and techniques, having left behind an exceptional legacy. This legacy includes such peculiar expressions as his settings for Sergei Diaghilev’s ballets and ordinary everyday sketches. Thus Russian art lovers could see the world-famous artist in a different light.

The exhibition includes 13 printed publications by Picasso created in the genre of «livre d’artiste» («the artist’s book»). Such genre integrates the efforts of an artist and an author or publisher, with the result of an exquisite artistic statement solidified in print. These editions had limited print-run and were printed on special paper. Picasso decorated his copies with silkscreen prints and sophisticated collages.

Our team developed and implemented the overall artistic solution and the exhibition’s concept. We designed the routing through the exposition halls and embodied it in both graphics and architecture. Three primary colors are white, red and black. The geometry, the lines and the shadow play take the visitors inside the artist’s head, inviting them to see the world through Pablo Picasso’s eyes.
