Our team developed the design of the Eastern Economic Forum venue, which in 2017 carried the theme «Far East: creating new reality». We worked in collaboration with the State Russian Museum. Here we continued along the concept which was primarily used at St. Petersburg International Economic Forum set design.
The chosen core theme is Russian avant-garde. This time we addressed to those artists who used to find their inspiration in the Middle and Far East. Malevich, Kandidsky, Filonov, Larionov and Goncharova from time to time appealed to the magnetic Orient in their work. Therefore China, India, Japan, Korea, Uzbekistan and Mongolia became a kind of Mecca for the avant-garde artists.
Eastbound as they are, with new artistic experiences they gained new tools to use and new themes to address. Harmony with nature, serenity and contemplation, intricate geometry and flexibility — this is what the East brought to the Russian avant-garde — one of the most powerful waves of the world’s modern art.
