The bureau’s objective for this project was to create a homogenous design for a Book Fair taking place at GES-2 — a former Moscow power station converted into a cultural venue. A selection of minimalist furniture blocks was successfully chosen to create a bright background, and unite a vast space by combining similar and simple, yet functional forms.

The event was planned to spread over three days, thus the architects decided to let go of complex designs and expensive constructions in favour of utilising the preexisting furniture available at the venue, such as showcases, tables, chairs. New volumes were added to the furniture by putting together interior decorations from separate details — similar to a toy constructor set, a reference to which can be derived from the overall layout of the Book Fair.
