2019 was the anniversary year of Alexander Pushkin, the embodiment of Russian language and classical literature. One of his most well-known artistic endeavors were numerous interpretations of Russian folk tales. These stories inspired well-known folk paintings in Palekh style — done with tempera paints on small items such as jewelry boxes or powder cases. Roscongress Foundations suggested Palekh style as the main artistic solution for SPIEF 2019 venue.
Given the uniqueness of Palekh miniatures, we collaborated with the All-Russia Museum of Decorative, Applied and Folk Art. This is how the characters from Pushkin’s fairytales joined businessmen and politicians in the public spaces of SPIEF. Pelekh miniatures opened cultural dimension in the framework of an international economic forum.
